Charles Louis Volckrick (° Lokeren, 2.2.1836; + Lokeren, 16.10.1871) was recorded as a photographer resident on this street on his death certificate in October 1871, while his brother "August" Maria Volckrick (° Lokeren, 12.2.1834; + Sint-Niklaas, 20.7.1902) signed as a witness on the same document and was recorded as a decorator. August still referred to himself as a decorator working on this street when he advertised in November 1871 that he was selling a complete photographic installation. He reassured everyone who had had their portrait taken by him that he would be taking good care of the negatives and that people could request new prints at all times (De Onpartijdige, 26.11.1871). Sometimes spelled "Volkrick".
