Austrian diplomatic. Forename alternatively given as François. Previously vice-consul in Nice [F] then consul in Athens and Piraeus [GR] from 1889 during a troubled period in the region. Arrived in Antwerp in mid March 1898 to replace baron Weber de Treuenfels as consul of Austria-Hungary (La Métropole, 23.3.1898). Appointed consul general by the beginning of November 1900 (L'Indépendance Belge, 2.11.1900). Antwerp was his final posting. Member of the photographic section of the "Cercle artistique, littéraire et scientifique d'Anvers"; no longer listed as a member in 1908.
