Journalist for British illustrated magazines, active from the mid 1890s to the eve of World War I. She specialised in accounts of the royal courts of Europe illustrated with her own photographs. This makes her a proto international photo-journalist. The Royal Archives in Brussels possess an album "Photographs of the Palaces of His Majesty the King of the Belgians" containing several views in albumen signed by Mary Spencer Warren. She may have taken them during the visit that resulted in her articles "The Court of Belgium", Cassell's Illustrated Magazine, April 1897 and "The King and Queen of the Belgians", The English Illustrated Magazine, February 1898. In the 1901 British census, recorded as an authoress aged 38 living in Leyton [Essex, GB] and In the 1911 British census, recorded as an authoress and journalist aged 48 living in Leigh-on-Sea [Essex, GB].
