George Constant Louis, ° 20.5.1871; + 29.3.1946. Born of a British father. Future inventor and businessman. Member and commissioner of the "Société Photographique de Courtrai". Emigrated to New York in 1896. Invented an early version of soluble coffee and founded the "G. Washington Coffee Refining Company" in 1910 to market his instant brew. Registered 26 U.S. patents, including one for reflex cameras in 1904.
