Victor Jules Marie, ° 11.12.1852; + 2.10.1949. Doctor of science who graduated from the "Université libre de Bruxelles" in 1880. Deputy chemist for the City of Brussels since 1889. Specialised in the analysis of foodstuffs and published extensively on the adulteration of beverages and foodstuffs, butter in particular. Secretary-General of the "Association belge des Chimistes", 1895-1904, and its successor organisation "Société Chimique de Belgique", 1904-1933. Still a member of the ABP in 1922.
