° 30.5.1819; + 21.5.1888. Photographer, lithographer and engraver, he established himself at Verviers in 1842. In his "Biographie verviétoise", Armand Weber records that around 1849 his father produced photographs from negatives on virtually transparent paper. These were calotypes and waxed paper negatives (Le Gray process). He was one of the first professionals in Verviers, but his activity appears to have been brief. A small collection of his early work has survived (calotypes and waxed paper negatives, some frame-mounted with the photographer’s lithographed credit; some of the prints are coloured).
