Laurent Ernest, ° 28.11.1833; + 10.8.1907. "Wetrems" in official records; "Wetteren" in the Tarlier directory. Father of Adolphe Wetrems (see that name). Already recorded as a photographer resident in Brussels - Ixelles on the occasion of his wedding on 16.6.1857, he was most probably an assistant or operator in an unidentified Brussels studio.

According to the population registry he moved to Rue d'Arenberg, 15, on 15.6.1864, then returned to this address on 29.12.1866, and again left for Rue d'Arenberg, 15 on 6.2.1867. Subsequently registered as "Wetrems" in the population registry, initially as an artist-painter, then as a person of independent means.
