Counsellor to the legation in Berlin in 1880, in London in 1882, in Tangiers in 1886 and in Rome (Vatican) from 1890. Belgian Minister Plenipotentiary in London from 1894 until his death. An obituary gave his hobbies as hunting and photography. Member of the ABP from March 1879. Brother-in-law of fellow-member Armand de Moffarts and joint-owner with him of the family château.
