After World War I, director of the "Fonderie royale des canons de l'armée belge" and, from 1925, professor of industrial chemistry at the University of Liège. Member of the "Photo-Club liégeois" into the 1920s. Some documentary photographs by Batta are in the collections of the "Musée de la Vie Wallonne" in Liège.
