"Jacques" Bidoit arrived in Liège on 15.6.1855. In the population registry he was recorded as born in Reims [F], "40 years old", husband [like Hugues Bidoit (see that name)] of Catherine Adèle Roche (° Reims [F], 36 years old). On 1.1.1857, he was registered as a "pothographe" in the population registry. Jacques and Hugues were probably the same person, unless they were brothers. In December 1856, Bidoit (no initial), alone at this address, advertised "Portraits from 3 to 6 fr. on glass, canvas or paper, coloured in oils. Do not confuse my firm with the one [operating] at the Aigle-Noir, Rue Féronstrée, with which I have no connection" (La Meuse, 20.12.1856).
