Already recorded as a photographer living with his parents at the occasion of his wedding to "Georgette" Clementina De Rudder (° Ghent, 15.10.1870) in Ghent - Sint-Amandsberg on 10.10.1894. He subsequently moved to Schoolstraat, 86 on 7.5.1895. "Jacobs, J." in the 1899 Ghent directory. According to "Fotografie te Gent", he began operating in 1898.

On CV, "Several diplomas and medals". Still operating at no. 12 in the 1920s.
