François Corneille Martin / Franciscus Cornelis Marcus, ° 25.4.1833; + 29.9.1890. Daguerreotypist in his native Zierikzee [NL] from 1854 to 1856, as well as baker and shopkeeper. Declared bankrupt in 1856 and arrived in Mechelen on 9.12.1856, recorded as an engraver. Subsequently recorded as a photographer in the foreigners register in 1857 (no location specified). The foreigners register records him at Zakstraat, 27, then Rue de la Chaussée, 11 and Sous la Tour, 5. CV with "Rue de la Chaussée, 11" crossed out and "Sous la Tour, 5" added in manuscript.

Took some topographical views of Malines. Van Nieuwland was still recorded as a photographer in Mechelen in August 1872. His death certificate records him as a photographer living in Namur at Rue Saint Jacques, 22.
