Photographs taken during a visit to Belgium: Antwerp, Bruges (29.9.1847), Ghent (29-30.7.1847), Malines, Sint-Rombouts Cathedral (1.8.1847), Brussels, Liège, Louvain and Namur. All these images were made from calotype negatives. They constitute one of the oldest complete sets of Belgian topographic photographs that have survived intact. Holdings in the Scottish National Portrait Gallery, Edinburgh.
